Villa Hera is situated on the beach at Marathounda literally a stone’s throw from the water’s edge.

Description

The property is a stylish conversion of the original building and is decorated to a high standard of comfort and design. Next door is Villa Zeus but the properties are on different levels so are private from one another. Marathounda bay is located towards the southern end of the island, about a 20 minute drive from Symi town. The bay itself is pebbly with wonderfully clear waters ideal for snorkelling. On the beach is Micheali’s taverna which serves traditional Greek dishes as well as fresh fish – this is open throughout the day and evening. To the rear of the villa is the Marathounda organic farm. An interesting place to take a guided tour and learn about some of the traditional farming methods.

A gate leads from the beach onto a private terrace which runs the width of the property and is ideal for al fresco dining. From here double front doors open into an air conditioned saloni. This has divan type seating which is furnished with two single mattresses for sleeping. Behind this is a slightly higher platform with two more single mattresses for sleeping. The two platforms are divided by curtains. To the right of this room is the master bedroom with a beautiful ornate four poster wooden bed. This bedroom also has air conditioning and a window over looking the beach.

Behind the saloni is a hall leading to the fully tiled shower room and kitchen. The kitchen is of ample size with dining furniture, fridge, dish washer and full oven.

From the hall wooden stable door leads into a private back terrace overlooking the valley and farm.

Villa Hera is an ideal property for a family who would like a beach based house - the property is spacious and well equipped so gives full independence away from the main town.
