This is a lovely and characterful family house located on the hillside in Alonissos Old Town.

Description

Alonissos Old Town is a beautiful hilltop village with lovely views over the island and out to sea. It was once the capital town of the island; Following an earthquake in the 50's, the village was deserted and the inhabitants moved to Patitiri. Since then, the village has been gradually and carefully restored and has come to life once more.There are now three minimarkets, a baker's, and some excellent tavernas and cafes. The nearest beach at Megalo Mourtia is a twenty minute walk away, and you can get down to the port of Patitiri on foot on the old mule path within twenty minutes, or alternatively by bus or taxi.

Villa Rafael is on a quiet little lane, and has superb views over the island and out to sea. Resulting from a conversion of two adjacent town houses, Villa Rafael has lots of interior space with an unusual layout. The main entrance opens into the top floor sitting room which is very spacious and which has high open beamed ceiling and a traditional corner fireplace. The sofas are built-in and striped blue and white cushions give the room a fresh summery feel. Throughout the top floor, the flooring is cool white tiles.

The kitchen is off the living room via an archway, and is fully equipped for self-catering with fridge-freezer and electric oven and hob. Both rooms access a terrace which runs the width of the house. This has lovely sea views, and makes a perfect spot for sunbathing and eating outside. The flight of stairs from the living room lead dfown to the main bedroom on the lower floor of the house. This has a fixed double bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower and WC. A door from the bedroom takes you tio some outside steps which connect up to the main terrace. The second bedroom which is also on the lower level, is accessed by steps down from the kitchen. This has a wooden double bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower and WC.
